Rocket Lab Inc. is a manufacturer and launch service provider of their lightweight Electron orbital rockets which are designed for dedicated launch of small satellites (they plan to build a larger Neutron rocket in 2027 ) and provide satellite, ground service, and on-orbit mission operations as a turn-key package.
The Electron rockets are launched from either Rocket Lab’s Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, or at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport in Wallops Island, Virginia, United States.
A big leap for Rocket Lab was their 2022 launch of a CubeSat to the Moon, to support NASA’s Artemis program.
Future developments include their Proton, destination Mars, and a Private Misson to Venus!
Rocket Lab is the new kid on the block when it comes to rockets, but, their early success and ongoing list of launches is cementing them as a reliable, albeit niche, launch provider, with interplanetary ambitions.
For those discerning space investors brave enough to conduct due diligence on this early stage space exploration company, current low valuations offer an affordable entry point.
But buyer beware, rockets go up, rockets go down.
They are an interesting listed company and also a hedge on how to invest in space exploration.
